A woman who made thousands of pounds running brothels in Devon and Cornwall has been jailed for a year.
Nicola Fenton, 28, banked more than £33,000 in a matter of months from Lithuanian prostitutes working in Exeter, Truro and Illogan.
Fenton, of Albion Road, Helston, in Cornwall admitted assisting the management of a brothel.
The court heard she looked after the women, found the houses, paid the rent and advertised for clients.
'Substantial profits'
Exeter Crown Court was also told she bought clothes, sex toys and condoms for the girls and in exchange she took a half share of their earnings as her reward for setting up the business.
Police recovered a shopping list from her home which read: "Clothes, vibrator, condoms, stockings, high shoes and bed."
They also traced three bank accounts into which at least £33,685 had been paid in cash from the earnings of the prostitutes, and which had been used to pay their rent and expenses.
The judge told Fenton: "You were making substantial profits but while I accept the girls were not trafficked they were exploited.
"They were brought from Lithuania, which is an area of low earnings and a low standard of living to work here and a substantial cut was taken off by those who controlled them."
