Bringing cream teas to Ayia Napa

Cornish cream teas are going down a storm on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

John and Julie Carter from Par moved to the town of Ayia Napa last year to open a shop selling Cornish pasties to hungry holidaymakers.

But now they are finding success with the classic cream tea combination.

Mrs Carter said they have to fly the ingredients - jam, scones and clotted cream - in from Cornwall and show people what to do.

"We're are having to show them and say this is a scone and tell them to put jam on and blob the cream on top," she said.

"Their faces when they try them - I don't think they've tasted anything like that."
