Drugs seized in police operation

A major crackdown on crime in Camborne, Cornwall, over the past week has led to 12 arrests by police.

Heroin, cannabis and amphetamine sulphate have been seized as part of the operation, along with weapons and suspected stolen property.

The teams also dealt with issues including antisocial behaviour, drunkenness, shop lifting and people failing to answer bail.

Police say they have been acting on tip-offs from local people.

Neighbourhood beat manager Pc Nigel Penaluna said: "We have listened to the local community about issues affecting them and have channelled our police resources to tackle criminal activity.

"Our message is clear, criminal activity in Camborne won't be tolerated and those who break the law will be tracked down."
