Golf club's redevelopment begins
Demolition work has begun on the old hotel at St Mellion Golf and Country Club in Cornwall.
The club's owners, Crown Golf, recently announced a £100m redevelopment plan for the resort, which will see the return of the English Open.
The hotel, which is more than 30-years-old, will be replaced by a new four-star building with 80 bedrooms.
The redevelopment, approved by Caradon District Council, also includes plans for 265 golf homes.
St Mellion will be the English Open's new home from 2009 until at least 2014.
