Police hold two over hit-and-run

Police in Cornwall have arrested two men after a man was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night.

The incident happened on Tremar Lane near the Market House Pub in St Cleer. The vehicle did not stop and the man was left in the road, police said.

The 41-year-old was later found by a passer-by.

He was taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital where his condition was described as stable.
