Pub fined over 'filthy' kitchen

A Cornwall landlord has been fined for "filthy" conditions in his pub kitchen.

Magistrates said they were appalled at conditions at the Tredrea Inn at Porthcothan near Padstow, which "posed a great public health risk".

North Cornwall Council food safety officer said food safety practises were poor and there was no evidence of hazard analysis in the visit last year.

Adrian Olsen admitted three offences, was fined £2,250 and ordered to pay £2,500 costs by Bodmin magistrates.

The council's environmental health officers told the court they found filthy conditions in the kitchen and later said the fines reflected the seriousness of the case.
