Winds no barrier to island market

Producers from the off islands will travel to St Mary's to sell products such as bread, ice cream and sausages.

Louise Graham, who is behind the market, says she hopes it will become a regular occurrence for the islands.

"It's a focus for people to meet and talk like they do in France, it adds something to the community," she said.

Ms Graham, the Isles of Scilly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty officer, said the islands had never had a farmers market before.

Producers from St Mary's, St Martins, St Agnes and Bryher will exhibit local beef, preserves, bread and fish.
