Stormy weather causes power cuts

Engineers have been continuing work to restore electricity to thousands of homes left without power during storms in Cambridgeshire.

Supplies were interrupted to 2,667 customers in the Fulbourn area on Friday because of a fault on the overhead distribution cables.

EDF Energy said it was caused by the stormy weather and engineers restored power to 443 homes by mid-afternoon.

Power is expected to be restored to all homes on Saturday.
