City redesigned to prevent crime

The redevelopment of Peterborough City Centre will mean crime will be 'designed out', according to police.

Cambridgeshire Police said one of their architectural liaison officers is meeting with developers to discuss how they will prevent crime.

The aim of the meeting will be to consider where CCTV can be placed, and examine street lighting and street layouts.

A police spokesman said: "There is a lot to consider with the redesign."
