Vomiting bug now affects 13 wards

An outbreak of the norovirus winter vomiting bug has spread to 13 wards at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

The hospital urged relatives and friends of patients to stay at home if they have diarrhoea or vomiting.

The bug usually clears up after 48 hours but it can be serious for vulnerable patients in hospital.

Visitors were warned that admission to wards could be restricted at short notice as the hospital battled to contain the spread of the bug.
