Man injured in city street attack

A 38-year-old man was injured in an attack as he was walking home from a pub in Cambridgeshire.

The victim had been walking back from The Fountain public house in Cambridge and attacked when he reached Leys Road in the Arbury area of the city.

He was assaulted by at least one man and suffered a large wound on his face.

It is believed the assault took place between midnight and 0300 BST on Friday. Anyone with information was urged to call Cambridgeshire Police.
