Blue speed camera vans make debut

Speed camera van

New speed check camera vans are being introduced in Cambridgeshire and are now blue instead of yellow.

Insp Clinton Hale, safety camera unit manager, said: "The vans were due to be replaced and we decided to change the colour to blue.

"This fits them in with the rest of the vehicles used by the traffic unit. The previous yellow vans were occasionally mistaken for work vehicles."

The new vans are larger in size and have camera logos on the side.

Insp Hale said: "The safety camera vans are out on the county's roads every day conducting speed checks.

"This is part of ongoing work to reduce the number of collisions on the county's roads."
