Policeman sentenced for sex abuse

Dominic Liversedge

A police sergeant from Cambridgeshire who admitted the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old schoolgirl has been sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Dominic Liversedge, 27, of Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court after pleading guilty to sexual activity with a child.

Liversedge, who was based at Parkside police station in Cambridge, has since resigned from the force.

The court heard he had befriended the girl's family in January.

He was playing the lead role in a production of Oklahoma in an amateur dramatic group in Cambridgeshire at the time.
