Plans to build a new housing estate in Cambridgeshire have been rejected by a city council.
Developers wanted to build 30 new homes at Northborough, near Peterborough, but campaigners said the homes would harm a wildlife habitat.
A unanimous decision was taken by Peterborough City Council's planning and environmental protection committee to reject the plan.
The 30 homes were due to be constructed on a site close to the village centre.
Developers Hazelmere drew up their alternative plans for 30 houses after a 56 home development on the same site was dismissed last year and a 39 home estate was rejected in February.
No-one was available from Hazelmere to say what the company planned to do next. The Bedfordshire-based firm has five sites in Cambridgeshire awaiting planning permissions.
