Man is knocked out in city attack

Two "good Samaritans" who helped a man who was knocked unconscious in a fight are being asked to contact the police.

The fight started between two men in Sidney Street, Cambridge, in the early hours of the morning, but eventually involved a number of people.

One man was knocked unconscious and while he was being kicked, two other men tried to protect him.

Cambridgeshire Police said it was interested in speaking to these two men, who may have vital information.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he was treated for cuts.

Pc Ian McMurray, who is investigating, said: "These two men stepped in to help the injured man who had been knocked to the ground. If this was you, please get in touch."
