A college campus is the site of the next leg in the construction of a guided busway in Cambridgeshire.
Work on a junction at Cambridge Regional College is due to start on Monday as part of the £116m project.
The busway aims to provide frequent transport from St Ives to Cambridge with most of the 15.5 mile (25km) route along a disused railway line.
The new junction will provide a crossing for vehicles and a stop for students and staff using the busway.
Nearby King's Hedges Road will be reduced to two lanes while work to build the junction is carried out.
Work on the junction is due to be completed in Spring 2008.
Chris Lang, college vice-principal, said: "Obviously there is going to be some disruption for people travelling from the college during the road works but we believe the short term pain is far out weighed by the long term gain for staff and students."
The Cambridgeshire Guided Busway is due to open in Spring 2009.
