Boy in dog attack acts as pageboy

George Brown is recovering after being mauled by a bulldog
George Brown A boy of four, who needed 200 stitches to his face after being savaged by a dog, has walked down the aisle as a pageboy at the wedding of his parents.

George Brown, of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, was attacked by an American bulldog last month.

He was treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and underwent four hours of reconstructive surgery.

His parents, Danielle Jerrom and Sam Brown, were married in All Saints Church at Hartford, Cambs, on Saturday.

Their two other children, eldest daughter Sammy and baby Libby, 10 months, were bridesmaids.

Kitted out in his black suit with a gold waistcoat and gold cufflinks, George followed his mother up the aisle.

Ms Jerrom said: "George has been so excited. We are hoping this is going to be a new start for us. We have had to move house and everything because George wouldn't go back to the house where it happened."

But the 26-year-old, from Offord Cluny, Cambs, added: "We have had to cancel the honeymoon because George won't let us leave him at the moment."

George is now being helped by a psychiatrist to help him get over the trauma of what happened.

Ms Jerrom said: "He is responding as well as can be expected. The other day he saw a dog off the lead and he was absolutely terrified."
