Second school hit by flu outbreak

A second Bath school has been affected by an outbreak of swine flu.

Health staff confirmed there were two confirmed cases at the Paragon School at Lyncombe Vale.

The independent school is the junior section of Prior Park College, where 17 cases of the illness have been identified recently.

Staff from the Health Protection Agency (HPA), which is helping the schools to contain the outbreaks, said all the children were making good recoveries.

Some of the Prior Park pupils have now returned to the school, which has remained open.

A spokesman for NHS Bath and North East Somerset said: "We are aware of two confirmed cases of swine influenza in students from the Paragon School in Bath.

"In the vast majority of cases swine flu is a mild illness and those affected make a full and quick recovery.

"The students have been offered anti-viral medication and are at home recovering well."
