A 66-year-old man from South Gloucestershire aims to break a world record for the longest journey on an electric bicycle.
Eddie Sedgemore, a former street cleaner for Bath and North East Somerset Council, aims to travel more than 1,600 miles around Britain.
He previously set a world record on a push-scooter in 2001 travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats.
"I'm looking forward to hopefully setting another World Record," he said.
The cycling challenge will also raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
"It's great that my fundraising effort will help save lives and fight heart disease - the UK's biggest killer," he added.
Mr Sedgemore, who has also completed the London Marathon five times, will begin the cycling challenge on 9 May.
