A cyclist has died in a collision with a car on the A4 Portway in Bristol.

The bicycle collided with a red Seat Ibiza, and the cyclist, a teenage boy, thought to be about 17 or 18 years old, died from his injuries.

The boy's family has been told. The accident happened at 1750 GMT on Tuesday and police are appealing for witnesses.

The Portway was closed between Sylvan Way and Bridge Valley Road overnight by Avon and Somerset Police.
