Police based at Bristol International Airport have developed an identity wristband to help lost children if they are separated from their families.
The coloured wristbands cost £1 and parents can write their contact details inside in permanent ink.
The money raised from the sale of the wristbands will go to the Cots for Tots campaign to help critically ill babies at Bristol Children's Hospital.
Police will be offering safety advice to families going on holiday abroad.
'Wander off'
Maria Tudgee, a Police Community Support Officer based at the airport, came up with the idea for the identity bands.
She said: "We've timed the launch of this initiative for the busy school summer holidays.
"Officers will be on hand to offer mums and dads advice and help them fit the bands.
"This scheme will enable us to engage with parents and children as they come through the airport and help them realise how important it is to stay together and not wander off while on holiday."
Alison Roberts, of Bristol International Airport, said: "Thousands of families will pass through the airport during August.
"The wristbands will help reunite children with their parents should they get lost, whether it is on the beach or in the departure lounge."
