Police name fatal crash victim

John Martyn

A man who died after a car crash near Bristol has been named by police.

John Martyn, 51, from Banwell, died following the collision in Banwell on Thursday night.

In a police statement, his family said: "John was a wonderful family man who worked hard for the community and will be sadly missed."

A 24-year-old man, from Cheddar, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on police bail.
