Food waste collected at schools

About 30 schools in Bristol will collect their food waste and cardboard in a pilot scheme to boost the city's recycling rates.

The project will run until the end of the summer term and could then be rolled out to all schools in the city.

Currently, some 37% of the city's waste is recycled.

Councillor Derek Pickup said: "We are increasing the amount of waste that is recycled and teaching our children the importance of minimising waste."
