Four inmates have absconded from Leyhill open prison in South Gloucestershire.
Officers at the jail noticed the men were missing when they failed to appear for evening roll call on Sunday.
A police spokesman said none of the men - whose offences ranged from burglary to possession of drugs - was considered a danger to the public.
They have been named as Neil Docker, 26, Martin Pow, 41, Kieran McConnell, 31 and Martin Harty, 24.
Not dangerous
All four men are white. Docker is described as 5ft 10ins, thin, with light brown short hair. He was imprisoned for burglary.
Pow is 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, stocky and balding with thinning brown hair. He was sentenced for possession of drugs.
McConnell is 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, with short grey hair and wears glasses. He was imprisoned for theft.
Harty is 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build, with short ginger hair and a thin goatee beard. He speaks with an Irish accent and was imprisoned for handling stolen goods.
None of the absconders are considered to be a danger but the public are advised not to approach them and to call 999 if they spot them.
