Teenager bailed over car incident

An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a road accident on Saturday has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A man was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa as he stood in front of a stationary blue Peugeot 107 on St Peter's Rise, Bishopsworth, Bristol.

The victim, an 18-year-old man from Bishopsworth, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

He is currently in a stable and comfortable condition.

The black Vauxhall Corsa was later found abandoned around 15 minutes later in Marksbury Road, Bedminster.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Bishopsworth, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has now been bailed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 2130 BST on Saturday night.
