Plans for new city lane from M5

A plan to put an extra lane on a busy road from the M5 into Bristol is under consideration.

The proposal is to turn the lay-by on the southbound A38 between J17 of the M5 and the Aztec West Roundabout into a third lane.

The Highways Agency, which would manage the project and have to get planning permission, said the A38 was managed by South Gloucestershire Council.

A spokesman said: "Consultation with the council is currently on-going."
