The wife of a man who fell from a hotel balcony in Greece with his two children has said he was a "caring father".
John Hogan, 32, from Bradley Stoke near Bristol, is facing a possible murder charge after his son Liam, six, died. Mia, two, survived with a broken arm.
Natasha Hogan, 34, a nurse at the Royal Gwent in Newport, said his actions were "completely out of character".
Liam's body was flown home on Sunday. His funeral will be held on 29 August at the Holy Trinity Church.
Mr Hogan remains in hospital in Crete after being treated for a broken arm and leg and chest injuries and will miss Liam's funeral.
Police guard
A Foreign Office spokesperson said on Friday that Mr Hogan faced arrest on suspicion of the murder of his son and the attempted murder of his daughter.
Mr Hogan and his two children fell 50ft from a fourth floor balcony on Tuesday 15 August, at the Petra Mare Hotel in Ierapetra, on the south coast of the island.
A Greek embassy spokesman said because of Mr Hogan's injuries, it could be days before he was fit enough to be interviewed.
He remains under police guard at the hospital.
