Missing student police find body

Missing student Tobiasz Minski Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Polish student in West Yorkshire have found a body.

Tobiasz Minski, 23, from Huddersfield, was last seen in the early hours on 9 November in the village of Slaithwaite.

Police said a body had been found near to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, one-and-a-half miles from Slaithwaite, on Tuesday afternoon.

Efforts are being made to identify the body. A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested.

The pair, who live locally, will be questioned by detectives on Wednesday.

Det Supt Paul Kennedy said: "Although the body is yet to be formally identified, we can't rule out the possibility that this is Tobiasz."

Mr Minski's family and girlfriend have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers, he said.
