Man killed, woman hurt in crash

A 35-year-old man has died and a 25-year-old woman is critically ill in hospital after a car crashed into a wall in Huddersfield.

The black VW Bora crashed near the entrance to Norwood Grange on Halifax Road in Edgerton on Monday night.

The driver was found dead at the scene and his badly injured female passenger was found lying on the ground nearby, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

Officers urged any witnesses to contact police as soon as possible.
