Man denies street attack murder

Juan-Claude McKenley

A man has denied the murder of a teenager stabbed to death outside a shopping centre in Reading.

Juan-Claude McKenley, 18, from Reading, was stabbed in an "altercation" outside the Broad Street Mall on 4 April.

Deno Brown, 27, also from Reading, pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder and two counts of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

He was remanded in custody to stand trial at Reading Crown Court at a date yet to be fixed.

Mr McKenley was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital following the incident but died later because of his injuries.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from internal bleeding.
