Man dies after two-car collision

A 78-year-old driver has died following a two-car collision in Berkshire.

The man was driving a Rover when it collided with a VW Passat on the A340 Tidmarsh Road in Theale at the junction with Bradfield Road at about 1000 GMT.

He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he later died. The other driver was unhurt.

Thames Valley Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the cars before the crash to come forward.
