Pensioner's car stolen in attack

Am elderly woman was ordered to get out of her car by a man who threatened her with a screwdriver, police in Berkshire have said.

The 79-year-old was sat in her grey Volkswagen Golf outside the Bracknell Sports Centre in South Hill Road, when she was approached on Saturday morning.

A man ordered the woman to get out before he got in and drove off towards the roundabout on Bagshot Road.

The woman was unhurt but very shaken by the incident, police added.

The robber is described as a young white man, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins, of slim to medium build, with short dark hair.

He was wearing dark blue clothing, possibly a tracksuit.

Det Con Wendy Gilkes, of Thames Valley Police, said: "The woman was not injured but she was very upset and shaken by the experience.

"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicle being driven away, to come forward."
