Woman gets trapped under bus

A woman has escaped sustaining life-threatening injuries after becoming trapped under a bus.

At about 1320 BST on Thursday police received a report that a bus had collided with the 47-year-old in Market Place, Reading, Berkshire.

She was trapped by the vehicle and had sustained a suspected head injury.

The woman, from Calcot, was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment but it is believed her injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Road closures, which were put in place in the area, have now been lifted.
