Elderly woman punched and robbed

An elderly woman was punched and knocked to the ground by a group of youths who stole £15 from her purse.

The 76-year-old woman was walking along Wentworth Avenue in Britwell, Slough, Berkshire, when she was attacked by at least three youths, police said.

They grabbed her handbag and stole the cash before fleeing.

The woman sustained extensive bruising and grazes. She made her way home and later mentioned the incident to her family, who then called the police.

Det Con Stuart Ritchie, from Thames Valley Police, said: "My colleagues and I are disgusted that anyone could subject an elderly woman to such an assault.

"This poor lady has been left deeply distressed by her experience, and I would appeal to anyone who can help us track down the robbers to come forward as soon as possible."
