Headless corpse accused remanded

John Finney

A man has appeared in court via videolink charged with the murder of a man whose headless body was dumped behind garages in Hertfordshire.

The body of John Finney, 42, was found in Ickleford in March 2008, two weeks after he was abducted from his vehicle.

Garry Lattimore, 40, of no fixed address, appeared at St Albans Crown Court, via videolink from Woodhill Prison in Milton Keynes.

He was remanded until 22 January, with a trial due to start on 23 February.

Mr Finney's head has not been recovered.

Mr Lattimore was arrested following a joint operation between Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit and officers in Madrid, Spain on 11 December last year.

Three other men have been charged in connection with the case and were remanded in custody last year.
