Driver dies in collision with van

A 34-year-old driver has died in a collision with a van in Hertfordshire.

It happened early in the morning on the A1081 between Harpenden and Luton when a Vauxhall Astra was in collision with a van, police said.

The car driver was killed, while the van driver was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital with minor injuries.

In a separate incident, an 84-year-old pedestrian from Goffs Oaks has died after she was involved in a road accident in Coffley Hill.
