A boy half the age of most GSCE entrants has gained a C grade after taking an exam at the level.
Aran Mohan, of Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, took the exam in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) eight years early.
The eight-year-old who wants to be "a scientist like Albert Einstein" when he's older kept the exam a secret from most of his primary school friends.
Computers are a hobby for Aran, who had to fit revision around his school work.
His other hobbies include playing piano, keyboard, drums and guitar, football, tennis and ice skating.
"It was easier than I thought it was going to be"
Aran's mother, Bhavani Mohan, said: "He was quite interested in computers at home so we started taking him to special classes when he was six.
"Because he was quite good, they suggested he sit the GCSE and it just went from there."
But while most students were revising over the holidays, Aran's parents took him on holiday to India for three weeks in April.
"I didn't realise I was good at ICT until after I'd done the GCSE exam," Aran said.
"It was easier than I thought it was going to be and I feel proud now that I've done it."
But despite also excelling at maths and science, Aran said he has no plans to take any more GCSEs soon.
