Man jailed for killing teenager

A man has been jailed for killing a teenager who died after being attacked in the street in Hertfordshire.

Christopher Owen Jones, 19, was found with serious injuries near the junction of Spring Drive and Broadwater Crescent in Stevenage, in November, last year.

He was taken to The Lister Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Steve Bangert, 19, of Blenheim Way in Stevenage, was jailed for four years and nine months after he admitted manslaughter at St Albans Crown Court.

Bangert was originally charged with murder but prosecutors accepted his plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
