Crash victim is named by police

A 52-year-old motorcyclist who died in a collision with a truck on a Bedfordshire road has been named by police.

Peter Cashmore was riding a Honda 750cc motorcycle involved in a crash with an Iveco truck on Thursday night on the B655 Hitchin Road, near Shillington.

The rider, of Park Lane, Old Knebworth, near Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had been travelling towards Hexton from the direction of Barton.

An inquest into Mr Cashmore's death has been opened and adjourned by the Bedfordshire coroner.

The cause of his death was given as multiple injuries.
