Digger used to grab cash machine

Thieves have used a digger to steal a cash machine in an early-morning raid at a supermarket in Bedfordshire.

The JCB was driven into the front of the Tesco Express store on King Street, in Potton, near Bedford, and the bucket was used to grab the machine.

Police said the JCB was stolen from a construction site in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire.

Three people were arrested and bailed in connection with the raid, which caused damage estimated at £50,000.

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
