Car passenger killed in collision

Police are looking for a lorry driver who failed to stop after being involved in a fatal collision.

A Ford Focus was overtaking a lorry on the M1 southbound in Bedfordshire when it had to swerve to avoid colliding with the vehicle as it changed lanes.

The car left the carriageway and landed on its roof. The driver of the lorry, which was green, failed to stop after the accident on Sunday night.

A passenger in the vehicle died on arrival at Bedford hospital.

The collision occurred in Aspley Guise.
