The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have toured a Bedfordshire school to celebrate its official opening after a £20m revamp.
The couple were welcomed at the Samuel Whitbread Community College near Shefford by student Emily Travis, 15.
The Queen will also officially open the new offices of Mid Beds District Council at Chicksands.
Later, the Queen is to visit St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger in her capacity as patron of Sue Ryder Care.
Meanwhile the Duke of Edinburgh will visit the newly-restored Stotfold Mill.
'Really nervous'
On their visit to the Samuel Whitbread Community College, the Queen and Prince Philip toured art rooms, science laboratories, and dance and drama displays before unveiling a plaque.
Emily Travis said: "I welcomed her to the school on behalf of all the students and she thanked me.
"It was really daunting. I practised the night before with my mum but as soon as I met her, my hands were shaking.
"I was really nervous."
