Engineers work on water main leak

Burst water main at Wendover Engineers had to turn off water supplies to some homes in a Buckinghamshire village after a water main burst.

One resident said the water main exploded with a "terrifying whoosh" on Saturday morning in Millmead, off Dobbins Lane, in Wendover.

Water was seen spouting about 30ft into the air from the main.

Thames Water staff were still working on the leak on Saturday afternoon, but hoped to have it fixed soon.

Resident Kevin Bennett said: "The spout could be seen five miles away."
