Extended break for Aston Martin

Aston Martin production is being stopped for a period as the company extends its Christmas break.

Production staff at the luxury car maker's plant at Gaydon, Warwickshire, were due to return on 5 January, after their usual Christmas break.

But the break will be extended for another two weeks until 19 January.

Earlier this month, Mini announced its BMW-owned factories would be closed for a month over Christmas instead of the usual two weeks.

An Aston Martin spokesman said the economic situation was being kept under review.
