Ashley Robinson

A man who suffered serious burns in a fire attack in County Durham has had a leg amputated, police said.

Ashley Robinson, 28, of Peterlee, was found badly burned at the back of a garage block in the Pennine Drive area of the town on 28 September.

Police revealed Mr Robinson, who is in Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary, had his left leg amputated last week.

A 27-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with wounding with intent.

A 24-year-old man has been bailed pending further inquiries, and a teenager released without charge after questioning.
