Mother's plea to keepsake thieves

The mother of a young boy from Sussex who died from leukaemia has urged thieves to return a box of keepsakes that was stolen during a burglary.

Keiton Knight, eight, passed away in March 2007 following a four-year search for a rare bone marrow transplant.

Paris Knight, of Hove, said she discovered on Thursday that Keiton's Noddy tin, containing momentos, had been stolen during a recent burglary.

She said: "It would mean a lot for me to have it back."

Ms Knight added: "The notes that Keiton wrote have all gone.

"I don't want to make a big deal out of it. It would be nice to have it [the tin] back but I don't have high hopes."

She lost a laptop computer and DVDs in the burglary at her home in Salisbury Road, Hove, on 30 August.

Keiton was of mixed race, so finding a suitable donor proved difficult despite a high profile campaign led by his family in 2006.

As well as looking for potential mixed race donors at Notting Hill Carnival, relatives also arranged other searches, which included enlisting the support of pop stars and footballers.
