Drugs found after burglary report

A cannabis farm was discovered by police responding to reports of a burglary at a house in Darlington.

Officers were called to the house in Ruskin Road in the Skerne Park area, after two men were spotted attempting to force open a door.

When they arrived the men had fled, but the unoccupied house was found to contain 120 cannabis plants in the loft and a bedroom.

Police are making inquiries to trace the owner of the property.

The plants were in various stages of growth but would have had a street value of £1,000 each once mature.

Anyone with any information on the house, or the attempted break-in, is asked to contact Durham Police.
