Jobs threat to 300 bakery staff

Almost 300 jobs are under threat after a County Durham bakery called in administrators amid financial problems.

Tindale and Stanton supplies a range of foods to retailers across the North East from its base at Burnopfield.

The company also employs staff at a distribution centre in Newton Aycliffe, near Darlington.

Administrators PriceWaterhouseCoopers were brought in by bosses, who blamed rising costs and difficult trading conditions for the decision.

Administrators are looking for a buyer to take on the company as a going concern.
