Electricity has been fully restored after falling trees damaged power lines across the north of England.
Engineers worked around the clock when power was cut to more than 30,000 homes during high winds on Friday night.
A further 1,000 homes in Northumberland and County Durham, which had been without power for most of Saturday, have now been switched on.
On Friday, high winds blew over 11 lorries on the A1 and the roof of a Northern Rock building was ripped off.
The Met Office has predicted winds will ease throughout Sunday.
Train services were also cancelled on Saturday after Network Rail imposed an 80mph speed restriction on some lines.
Flying debris
Many overhead power lines were damaged by falling trees and flying debris.
Gareth Pearson, operations director for CE Electric UK, said: "Our staff have worked extremely hard, often battling against atrocious conditions at the height of the gales.
"It is due to their skill and dedication in only being satisfied when the last customer had power restored, that we have been able to get everyone back on supply so promptly."
