Prisoner quizzed on girl's murder

Dinah McNicol Police investigating the death of an Essex teenager who went missing in 1991 have questioned a man serving a life sentence for murder in Scotland.

The body of Dinah McNicol, 18, from Tillingham, was found in November in the garden of a house in Margate, Kent.

Peter Tobin, 61, a former owner of the house, was questioned by detectives from Essex Police.

Tobin was jailed in May last year for the rape and murder of Polish student Angelika Kluk in Glasgow.

The 23-year-old's body was found underneath the floorboards of a church in the city.

Miss McNicol went missing after attending a music festival in Liphook, Hampshire.

Her father, Ian McNicol, said: "It's nice to know we're getting somewhere. I want peace to get on with my life."

Essex Police said no arrests have been made over the teenager's death.
